Please read the following policies so we don't have to be assholes. Thanks!

 

STUDIO RULES

  • Absolutely no smoking cigarettes/cigars in the control room or live room. All smoking of cigarettes/cigars should be done outside.

  • Please limit personnel to 5 people maximum including you (the client) unless prior arrangements have been made with us.

  • You and your personnel are responsible for your personal belongings. If you leave something at the studio and do not contact us within 24 hours of your session’s end, we cannot be held responsible for retrieving the item(s) or for any lost/damaged/stolen item(s).

  • Only designated staff should touch or adjust studio equipment. All other parties must get approval from the engineer/producer before doing so. This stuff's expensive!

  • If any client or associated personnel causes damage to the equipment, facility, or staff, he/she/they will be held responsible for monetary compensation to repair/replace/treat said damages. The damages will be assessed and added to your balance due at the end of the session.

 

 

BOOKING AND SESSION PROCEDURES

  • All sessions must be officially booked and confirmed through e-mail (ethossoundstudios@gmail.com).

  • A minimum of 2 hours must be booked for every session. Any booked time or session time over 12 hours will be subject to an “overtime rate” billed time and a half (per hour after 12 hours).

  • If you are booking multiple days or 8 hours in a single day, a 50% deposit must be made at the time of booking, which will be applied to the balance due at the end of your session. If necessary, deposits must be made within 7 days of your session time or you will forfeit your time to another potential booking. DEPOSITS ARE NON-TRANSFERRABLE AND NON-REFUNDABLE.

  • Any cancellations of sessions must be made within 24 hours. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before scheduled start time will be billed for 50% of the booked session time (any deposit paid will be included in the 50%).

  • Session will begin at specified booked start time whether the client is present or not. Early arrival will be adjusted in the total amount of hours billed. Any changes in session times must be confirmed with a staff member within 24 hours of scheduled session. Failure to confirm these details will result in time charged for original start time booked.

  • No discount will be given for any equipment provided by the client for the session.

  • If session end time booked is exceeded by more than 10 minutes, additional 30-minute (half-hour) blocks will be billed until session is completed. This includes any final housekeeping tasks, i.e. burning CD’s, session playback, etc.

  • Mixing and/or mastering sessions where client is not present will be documented on a work order and billed accordingly.

  • All unpaid balances must be paid by session end to receive copy of session data/backup session or any media related to session (CD’s, DVD’s, mp3’s, etc.).

  • Forms of payment accepted are: Cash, PayPal, or Credit/Debit Cards. No checks of any kind will be accepted at this time.

  • Breaks are defined as all clients and staff ceasing workflow for food or other necessities. Any breaks less than 30 minutes will still be included in hours billed.

  • Downtime (failure of any studio gear resulting in loss of session time) will be compensated after both staff and client reach an agreement about the specific situation. Any failure of client’s equipment will not result in awarded downtime. Any downtime must be addressed at the time of occurrence and must be documented immediately. Downtime claimed at the end of the session will not be honored.

  • Both client and staff are exempt from any damages, downtime, or cancellation of session due to inclement weather or other scenarios deemed to be an "act of God”.

  • Ethos Sound Studios will store your session on our studio hard drive for 60 days after the completion of your project/session. After that, if no prior arrangements were made, we will discard the session. This is because of the enormous amount of disk space that sessions take up on our drives. If you would like us to store your session on our drives more than 60 days, you will be charged a storage fee ($5 per 10gb - minimum of $5 per month). This fee will be added onto the balance of the session(s) and must be paid in full on the day the storage arrangement is agreed upon. When your storage period is up, we will contact you to discuss further options.

  • Unless designated otherwise, the client will always be considered the producer for a session. If you would like one of our engineers to produce your session, please let us know in advance so additional rates can be negotiated.

  • Upon booking a session with Ethos Sound Studios, the client agrees to all studio policies stated and the enforcement of said policies.
